Summay:

The author focuses on a particular institute of international criminal law that was incorporated into the Slovak legal order – the universal jurisdiction. The author analyzes the universal jurisdiction through public international law and criminal law – substantial and procedural part. We assume that the Slovak regulation is on a very high level and meets the highest standards of international criminal law as far as the universal jurisdiction is concerned. Nevertheless the question remains to what extent this provision will be applied in practise.
